We would like to invite you to take part in a monthly discussion and working group concerned with political developments in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka from an anti-capitalist perspective.

Next Meeting: 12pm, 28th February, at LARC, 62 Fieldgate St., Whitechapel, E1 1ES

Aims of the meeting are:

> A common review and mutual update about current developments, such as workers’ movements, policies of the state, impacts of the global crisis

> Prepared short talks about specific subjects and common debate

> Setting up a common resource web-site

> Establishment of closer links between groups in and around London and class struggle-related groups on the Subcontinent

> If necessary and possible, practical solidarity with ongoing struggles

> Introduction and common review of current news

> Impact of the current economic crisis in India

> The Impact of the Dubai Crisis on Kerala

> Operation Green Hunt’, Lalgarh and the current social war against the ‘Maoist movement’ in India

We would like to invite you to take part in a monthly discussion and working group concerned with political developments in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka from an anti-capitalist perspective.

Aims of the meeting are:

* A common review and mutual update about current developments, such as workers’ movements, policies of the state, impacts of the global crisis
* Prepared short talks about specific subjects and common debate
* Setting up a common resource web-site
* Establishment of closer links between groups in and around London and class struggle-related groups on the Subcontinent
* If necessary and possible, practical solidarity with ongoing struggles

Agenda for the January 2010 meeting:

* Introduction and common review of current news
* Update on situation in Delhi (food and transport cost inflation)
* Prepared contributions: The rural crisis
a) What is the situation of ‘Operation Green Hunt’, the counter-insurgency operation of the Indian state?
b) What is the development of struggles in Lalgarh – a rebellious area of West Bengal?
c) What kind of struggles and developments emerge from the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act?
